150 runners. 31 miles. 21 years.
One river.
Welcome to the home of the McKenzie River Trail Run, the final event in the Oregon Trail Ultra Series. Tracing a route along the beautiful McKenzie River Trail, this 50K offers runners a technically challenging course and the inspiration of some of Oregon's most breathtaking scenery.
The 23nd annual McKenzie River Trail Run 50K will be on September 11, 2010. The 2010 entry process in to the McKenzie River Trail Run will be electronic. We have decided to go with this way for a number of reasons on our end and we hope that you find it more convenient too.
Registration will open at midnight April 1, as usual. The change is that we will have the registration open for seven days, closing at midnight April 7. Any person that has finished the race five times or more, throughout the 23 year history, and last year's winners (male and female) have an automatic entry. All other people, regardless of when they sign up, will have an equal chance of getting into the race. If entries received during the 7 days exceed our permitted levels, all the names will be put into a pool for random selection. We will be using Ultrasign Up — they will collect all relevant information and preauthorization of a credit card, if you are selected to participate the charge will be made — if you are not selected there will be no charge.
We hope to have the field selected and posted by April 15 — as well as establish a wait list if one is necessary. So, mark your calendars to register sometime between April 1 and April 7. A link to the registration form will be posted here on April 1.
See you on the trails,
The MRTR directors.
